hi! this video is still pretty accurate in terms of functionality:
the only difference is that the panel of render strips is moved to other location

this will render the same way it renders without an addon - render output will be exactly the same
Oh i get it, in that case - it depends simply on your model - if the material is doublesided (which is by default from what i know) it will be rendered from both sides.
the link to installation (that take you to blender documentation is not working) .. i don't know to unable it on blender

Do not unzip the file. Just go to User Preferences in Blender, go to the tab 'Addons'navigate to the downloaded zip file, select it and press install addon in the bottom right corner. It should be installed after that. Make sure you are using 1.3.4 version.
